Author's Note: Hello everyone, this is a special oneshot I wrote while I was bored. It is NaruSaku, so if you do not like the pairing I sugget not reading to refrain from pairing bashing and/or character bashing. ^^
Now, in the oneshot Naruto died by the hands of Sasuke; after the battle with Itachi, Naruto has caught up with Sasuke and they are fighting. Sasuke ends up winning, and Naruto's death is barely anything in Konohagakure.
So...Um, enjoy! ^^ _____
“Naruto!” ___
The odd, lingering silence that had stayed was just overwhelming. A group of people, but no one said a thing. Was it a time for remorse? A time for regret? A time for tears? A single person stood out from all the rest, a dull pair of emerald eyes looked down at the gravestone. She was the one who caused this state of depression in the Konoha Eleven group. Stray strands of cherry blossom hair fell into her eyes, her face was almost emotionless- was she suppose to feel…This guilty? The kunoichi’s lips moved, she was saying something. What exactly was she saying? Her voice hoarse from crying just moments ago, she quickly turned on her turn and walked away slowly. The cherry blossom medic couldn’t stand it any longer.
Treading down the paths of the main village road, Sakura quietly kept to herself. Everyone was either inside, or at the funeral. She felt something wet touch her cheek, the pink locks framing her depressed face. Looking up, droplets of water fell and she bit her lower lip. It was raining. What timing, the rain fell gently as she continued her tread toward the now vacant apartment. In a matter of one day, the building would be torn down- Sakura cursed under her breath. She closed her eyes, holding back on her tears. She couldn’t cry now, what would he say?
But his input didn’t matter, because he was dead.
If only she could have saved him…If only she didn’t have him make that now stupid promise of a lifetime….If only things had not turn out this way- he would be here, comforting her, giving soft kisses to her cheek and neck and whispering sweet things in her ears. He would be here, living his dream and finally living in peace- if not for that…For that…Illicit Uchiha heir. The name that was taboo before was even more taboo- she did not dare speak that name. It would have only brought terrible thoughts to her head. Caressing her bottom lip in between her teeth, Sakura quickly made her way to the vacant apartment building. Running in the rain, was that all she could do? Run? She was tired of running, tired of watching the people in front of her leave her, due to her absent mind. She let her puppy love to the snake sanin over ten years ago- and she now lost her only hope. Would her sorrow and sadness end? The blurriness of the apartment came into view; a trickle of tears escaped her lifeless emerald lenses. Breathing heavily, Sakura made her way gradually up the flight of stairs. The emptiness of such a place…It saddened her even more, was the blond the only one living there before now…?
Gulping, as Sakura soon had appeared in front of the broken down apartment, her hand reached out to grasp the door knob. Dare she go inside? Dare she go inside, and remember all things that related to the blond? His apartment…She had been here several times, but only to drop groceries, and other goods. Sakura had really never stayed, and now she decided to stay?
How pathetic, she idly thought, before turning the doorknob with her one hand and pushed it forward. A sudden creak echoed, and she winced at such noise. Stepping in, Sakura’s eyes closed- the sudden wave of his smell crashed over her and she blinked away her tears. When walking in, she heard her foot step onto something and it cracked. Looking down with her bangs over her eyes, there was an empty ramen cup under foot. Sakura’s lips curved upward just slightly, oh that man…He was still eating the unhealthy noodles even at the age of twenty five?
Sakura looked around the apartment, its contents barely full but more than barren. There was a small couch; a table that was used also for a desk, the kitchen…Sakura’s eyes went to the door nearest her- walking over and peering inside. A bed, a desk, and a desk lamp were what she could see. Scraps of clothing had been thrown all over, and Sakura walked in- the door creaked. Bringing her arms close to her chest, right near her heart, and sat down on the bed. It was soft, it felt comfortable.
She could smell his scent in the room, and tears were on the verge of falling. Holding back her tears, Sakura quietly laid her head on the pillow and gripped the white sheets tightly. Her jade eyes closed quickly, the tears dripping from her eyes and falling onto the bedspread. Thinking of all the years spent together with the blond, how they would spend time together alone- giving each other heated kisses (but never got into anything sexual yet) and whispering sweet nothings to one another. It was just…Blissful.
But all of that ended.
Hearing the rain pounding against the window pane, Sakura looked up and rubbed her eyes. She sniffed, she had completely forgotten the rain and how damp her hair and her clothing were. Sighing softly, and calming herself down just a bit- she sat up. Something had popped into her head. She’d move into the apartment, to stop it from being destroyed and rid of. It was a way to remember the blond man, he was still here…In a sense, she told herself. Yawning, Sakura laid her head against the pillow once more- her eyes slowly drifting off to slumber. ___
